The story is a pastiche of Akira Kurosawa\u2019s film\u00c2\u00a0Seven Samurai<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0and its western remake,\u00c2\u00a0The Magnificent Seven<\/em>. This band includes Gelt, played by Robert Vaughn essentially reprises his role from\u00c2\u00a0The Magnificent Seven<\/em>, and George Peppard as a space cowboy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The special effects were designed by James Cameron (Aliens<\/em>, Avatar<\/em>), and reused in several other Roger Corman works (Space Raiders<\/em>, Starquest II<\/em>, Dead Space<\/em>, and Forbidden World<\/em> to name a few).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Battle Beyond the Stars was literally written as The Magnificent Seven<\/em> in Spaaace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The farmers of the peaceful planet Akir, are threatened by the space tyrant Sador.
