Dille arranged for Philip Nowlan to turn the story \u201cArmageddon 2419 A.D.\u201d &#8212; that originally appeared in <em>Amazing Stories<\/em> &#8212; into a comic strip for syndication. The comic strip was named Buck Rogers, the name that was used for the character from then on.
